Testing in the real world

From city streets to everyday traffic conditions, we test and validate our autonomous mobility technology to prepare for real-world environments.

To help ensure autonomous mobility integrates into modern transportation systemswe’re putting our vehicles to the test in simulations, closed courses, and real city traffic.

Each mile helps us better understand how autonomous mobility performs in real-world conditions across a diversity of global communities. Through ongoing testing and on-road validation in cities across the United States we're continuously working to refine our technology, operations, and readiness for driverless mobility.

Where we're testing

  • Orlando

Within Orlando, FL, the community of Lake Nona is a growing, tech‑forward collection of residents where frequent trips connect homes, workplaces, healthcare, and neighborhoods.   Travel patterns here tend to be shorter and more predictable, closely tied to how the community is laid out. Shared, electric autonomous vehicles are well suited to these microtransit needs, helping people move smoothly throughout the area while fitting naturally into daily routines for residents and visitors alike.

  • Austin

In Austin, TX, we’ve been advancing validation testing on public roads since 2023, refining our technology across a wide range of traffic conditions. Here, trained onboard safety drivers are behind the wheel during each ride.   Austin’s openness to innovation makes it a great place for MOIA America to push innovation forward. We’re building more than autonomous mobility technology– we’re also building trust with transparency, local collaboration, and real-world results.

  • Los Angeles County

Long distances, heavy traffic, and constant movement shape how people travel across Los Angeles County every day.   Autonomous mobility introduces the potential to expand transportation options and provide more convenient access to the places people need to go. Here, the all-electric, purpose-built autonomous ID. Buzz supports on-demand autonomous ridepooling services designed around the needs of communities and mobility providers.

Advancing autonomous mobility responsibly

Our approach is grounded in on-road testing, regulatory and community engagement, and operational experience as we work to develop and refine autonomous mobility solutions.
